He was born October 31, 1942.
Leonard is survived by his wife, June Cranford; daughter, Kelley (husband David) Schneider; son, Eric (wife Sherita) Cranford; two grandsons, Ethan Schneider and Gavin Schneider; brother, Raeford Cranford; and two nephews, Steve Cranford and Dean Cranford.
Leonard Cranford was a devoted husband of 55 years, father, brother, grandfather and friend. Leonard graduated from High Point College and Iliff School of Theology. He dedicated his life to caring for others. During his time in the ministry and working for the Randolph County Department of Social Services, he supported people during their most difficult and trying times. As a football quarterback and baseball pitcher, Leonard was a natural leader. As a Marine, Leonard proudly served his country and accepted all men based on the content of their character. We are all so lucky to have had a relationship with a man of such integrity and stood on his principles for the fair treatment for all. Leonard, we will deeply miss your warm eyes and gentle smile, but your spirit of compassion will live on in all of us.
No services are scheduled at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Leonard's memory to: Wounded Warrior Project.
