Laura Evelyn Gray

Miss Laura Evelyn Gray, 97, of Charlotte passed from this life on Oct. 6, 2015 at Asbury Care Center. Born November 1, 1917 she was the daughter of Boyce Marvin and Edna Penninger Gray; both of Mecklenburg County. She is survived by her brother, Dr. Thomas Gray; sister, Frances Stephens, and eleven nieces and nephews. Laura Evelyn was retired from Central Piedmont Community College, where she served in Library Technical Services. She was also a skilled pastry cook who made many pies for functions at her church, Sugaw Creek Presbyterian. Laura Evelyn will be remembered for her generous and loyal support of family, friends, church and several charities. Also, for her love of Christ, Gods word, and her most cherished scripture "If ye love me, then keep my commandments." Laura Evelyn lived out her faith every day of her life. A memorial service for Laura Evelyn is pending. Time and place to be announced.
