Lane Calvin Seaford, Sr

Lane Calvin Seaford, Sr. 81, long time resident of Charlotte, NC passed away June 19, 2011. He was born in Cabarrus County on January 8, 1930 to the late E.G. Seaford and Mary Honeycutt Seaford and grew up on the family farm the youngest of six boys. He graduated from W.R. Odell High School and married Nancy his high school sweetheart. Mr. Seaford was an avid reader, reading through the Bible a number of times. He was a deacon at Mallard Creek Presbyterian Church, volunteer fireman, charter member of Mallard Creek Optimist Club and loved gardening. He retired from United Brake, Inc. as general manager and for many years was salesman of the year. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nancy. Two sons: Lane Seaford II and his wife Donna, of Charlotte, NC and Jeffrey Seaford and his wife Robin of Huntersville, NC. Three grandchildren: Jamie Seaford Stewart and husband Scott, Lane Seaford III and fiance, Monica and Lauren Seaford: great grandchildren, Sam Stewart, Kayla Stewart and Kenzie Stewart, one Brother Fred and his wife Betty. Services will be conducted Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 10am at Mallard Creek Presbyterian Church with Rev. Brant Piper officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be conducted in the church following the burial. The family would like to thank the caring staff of Levine & Dickson Hospice House for there excellent care.
