Kristene Marie Monroe

Kristene Marie Monroe, 52, of Huntersville, NC passed away on April 7, 2021. She was born in Louisville, KY on May 15, 1968 to Kenny Morris and the late Billie Jane Morris.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 25 years, Barry Monroe; daughters, Gabrielle and Caroline; son, John; son-in-law, Ransey; her triplet grandsons; her brother, Doug Morris; and sister, Kim Hester.

Kristene’s family was her world. She was known to easily make lasting friendships and connection with others. Outside of spending time with her family, Kristene also served as a volunteer assistant coach for the Hough High School women’s field hockey team.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kristene’s honor to Feline Urgent Rescue of WNC, St. Jude’s Children’s Cancer Center, Atrium Cancer Research Center, and Novant Cancer Research Center.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at 1:00PM at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home located at 16901 Old Statesville Road, Huntersville, NC 28078. The memorial service will be viewable on this obituary and Raymer-Kepner’s Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/RaymerKepnerFuneralHomeAndCremationServices) starting at 12:50PM. A gathering will be held shortly after the service. Details of the gathering will be announced at the service.

A Celebration of Life service will also be held in Louisville, KY at a later date.
