Kitty Ward Maxwell Sellars

Mrs. Kitty Ward Maxwell Sellars, 89, of Davidson, NC died Tuesday October 2, 2012 at Churchill Assisted Living. Born December 12, 1922 in Asheboro NC she was a daughter of the late Justin W. Maxwell and Ethel Youngblood Maxwell. Mrs. Sellars was a longtime Elder in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), recipient of the Lifetime Membership Award of the Presbyterian Women and a member of the Mecklenburg Historic Association Docents. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday October 5, 2012 in Lingle Chapel of Davidson College Presbyterian Church with Rev. Lib McGregor-Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Charlotte, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Mary M. Sellars of Huntersville, NC, Nancy S. Mundorf of Greensboro, NC, Rev. Lacy S. (Darlene) Sellars of Hot Springs, Arkansas; sisters-in-law, Ann F. Maxwell of Charlotte, NC and Carol B. Sellars of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren, Chris J. (Katharine) Mundorf of Wilmington, NC, Caroline Lacy Sellars of Austin, TX and great grandchildren, Evan and Isla Mundorf and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lacy S. Sellars, Sr. and brother, Allen Maxwell. Memorials may be made to Metrolina Association for the Blind, 704 Louise Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28204. Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home and Cremation Service Huntersville, NC is assisting the family.
