Copley, Kevin Wood January 28, 1960 - November 25, 2010

Funeral services for Kevin Wood Copley will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, November 29, 2010 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Cornelius, NC. The services will be conducted by the Reverend Gabe Goodman of Community Presbyterian Church of Atlantic Beach, FL. An informal gathering of all family and friends will be held at Raymer Funeral Home, Huntersville, NC on Sunday, November 28th from 5 pm to 7 pm. Kevin, of Huntersville, NC passed away on November 25, 2010. He was 50 years old. Born in Munich, Germany to Colonel and Mrs. Lewis L. Copley, Sr., Kevin was predeceased by both his father and older brother, Lewis Jr (Chip). Kevin adored his family, the beach, the Florida Gators, all forms of fishing, and his many friends. A graduate of the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Kevin earned both a Bachelors degree in Accounting and an MBA, the first in his family to do so. Kevin is also a licensed CPA in both North Carolina and Florida. He began his career in Finance with Vistakon, and later served as Associate Controller for the University of Florida Foundation in Gainesville, FL. The family moved to Huntersville, NC, in 1998 where he was in banking with Wachovia and its predecessor bank, First Union. Kevin is survived by his wife, Jami; three children, Erica Nichole, (Atlanta, GA) Christopher Kent, and Katherine Leigh, (Katie) of Huntersville. He is also survived by his mother, Eva G. (Toni) Copley, and his sister, Suzanne Copley, of Jacksonville, FL; the Kent family, whom he loved as his own, - Shirl Kent of Jacksonville Beach, FL; William and Linda Kent of Hickory, NC; Colonel John Kent and his wife, Gisa, and their children ,Kelcy and Tyler of Woodbridge, Virginia. In addition, Kevin will be remembered by his aunts and numerous cousins. Kevin did not know a stranger and will be missed by many. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Hospice location of your choice.
