Katherine Jane Welsh

Katherine Jane Welsh, 58, of Cornelius, North Carolina, formerly of Northbrook, Illinois and Montclair, NJ passed away on November 27, 2018.

Katherine was born and raised in Montclair, New Jersey on July 10, 1960 to the late Francis and Mary Welsh. She attended local schools and graduated from Montclair High School in 1978, Gettysburg College in 1982, and the New York School of Law in 1985.

She is survived by her husband, Louis DiPietro of Cornelius; four children, Sarah, Jack, Jenna, and Grace;  four brother, Frank, Chuck, John, and Howard Welsh; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Katherine was a true Jersey Girl. She loved the Shore and Bruce Springsteen. Much to the delight of her father, she followed in his footsteps and became a lawyer. In the early 90’s, she worked for the FDIC, where she met her husband. They lived in Connecticut, San Francisco, and Chicago, adopting three beautiful Chinese girls along the way. She gave birth to a son. When Katherine learned her son was disabled, she became interested in Special Education and became a teacher—her true calling. She cherished her time in the classroom. She was a devoted Mother and loving wife.
