Karen Zaleski

Karen Zaleski, 62, of Charlotte, NC passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on November 1, 2017.

Karen was born in Niagara Falls, NY on August 15, 1955 to Louis and Joan Campanaro. Karen is survived by her husband, Richard Zaleski; her sons, Vincent (Robbin) and Joseph (Shannon); sisters, Janine (Gary) Riggi and Cam Campanaro; grandchildren, Nathan and Eve Zaleski; and three nephews, Gary Jr., Kevin, and Danny Riggi; and several nieces and nephews.

Karen graduated from Niagara County Community College with a business degree. After moving to Charlotte, she worked at St. Mark Catholic Church for many years, first as a pre-school teacher and later as the parish accountant.

Karen had a smile that was contagious and would brighten anyone’s day. She was happiest when people gathered at her home for the holidays and Sunday dinners.

Relatives and friends may call Monday, November 6 at 10 am at St. Mark Catholic Church, 14740 Stumptown Rd. A funeral Mass will follow at 11 am. Karen will be laid to rest in Niagara Falls at a later date.
