Karen Little

Karen Sue Romanik Little, 68, of Cornelius passed away November 2, 2016 at her home.  Born September 9, 1948 in West Leechburg, Pennsylvania to the late John and Stella Romanik.

Karen loved flowers and working in her garden.  She became a Master Gardener where she served as the president of the Greensboro Gardening Association.  Along with oil painting, coloring and traveling, Karen thoroughly enjoyed crocheting, especially when it came to crocheting lap blankets for hospice patients.  She loved spending time with her family and friends and watching her grandchildren thrive in and out of school.  She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Karen is survived by her loving family which includes: her son, Chris Little (Stacey); her daughter, Patty Burkart (Chris); grandchildren, Reece and Caroline Burkart, and Claire and Connor Little; sister, Beverly Thomas (Melvin); niece, Lauren Patterson (Ryan); great nephew, Crawford Patterson, and her loving K9 companion, Manny.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, Huntersville, NC. The family will receive friends prior from 1:00 pm until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in Karen’s memory to the Leukemia Foundation or Hospice.
