Juanita Street

August 29, 1934 — June 23, 2024

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Juanita Moore Hill Street, a remarkable soul who peacefully departed on June 23, 2024, at Brookdale Senior Living in Clarksville, Tennessee, under the attentive care of AseraCare Hospice and the compassionate facility nurses.

Born in Greensboro, North Carolina, Juanita was the cherished daughter of William Troy Hill and Daisy Wright Simpson of Charleston, South Carolina. She was the beloved sibling of Kenneth Allen Hill and his wife Jane Jarrard Hill of Huntsville, Alabama, and Jacqueline Dolores Hill Louvier of Timpson, Texas.

Juanita's journey led her to Chapel Hill College in North Carolina and a career at Palmer College of Charleston, South Carolina, local TV stations, and William and Berg Construction supplies. She met her beloved Frank Tandy Street, Jr at William and Berg, and their union lasted an incredible 52 years. Together, they embarked on a new chapter in Charlotte, North Carolina, where Juanita became involved with the Oratorio Singer of Charlotte, North Carolina and lent her voice to several church choirs.

Her passion for art, decorating, and flower arranging was evident in her many pursuits. Juanita excelled in Asian artwork and Ikebana flower arranging, crafting stunning arrangements for local decorators and serving as president of the flower and garden clubs in Cornelius, North Carolina. Her green thumb and love for botanical beauty were evident in her yard, which was adorned with a diverse collection of plant species. She lovingly created arrangements for First Baptist Church and Davison Methodist Church, eventually finding a spiritual home at Grace Covenant Church of Cornelius, North Carolina. Notably, Juanita was an active member of the DAR, Mary Slocumb Chapter in Mooresville, North Carolina, and the Capitan William Edmiston Chapter of Clarksville, Tennessee.

Leaving behind cherished memories, Juanita is survived by her stepson, Frank L. Street, and his wife Katrina of Atlanta, GA; stepdaughter Ann Street and her husband Jody Page; her daughter Kimberly Anne Street and her husband Erich F. Kintrup; and her adored grandchildren, Meredith Street and her husband Nick Caligiuri and their child Cameron, Whitney Street and her husband Luke Scharf and their children Ethan, William, Peter and Samantha, Jennifer Nichole Kintrup and her husband Jarrod Neil Maloney, and Elizabeth Ashley Kintrup.

Visitation to honor Juanita's memory will take place on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at 10:00 am at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am in the chapel of the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Paul Turbedsky. Interment will follow at Mt Zion Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Salvation Army, Attn: Karen A Shore, Regional Resource Development Director, North and South Carolina Division, 501 Archdale Drive, Charlotte, NC, 28217, phone: 704-907-1195.
