Mrs. Joyce Ann Wingard Rogers, age 67, of Milton, Florida, died with her family by her side on Sunday, December 23, 2012, at Sacred Heart Hospital, in Pensacola, Florida. Born September 20, 1945 in Charlotte N.C, she was the daughter of Justus Jonas "Jess" Wingard and the late Mary Frances "Honey" Wingard. "Maw," as she was affectionately known by her family, was a genuine friend to all who knew her. She is a 1963 graduate of South Mecklenburg HS and received an Associate in Arts degree in 1965 from Charlotte College. For the last 12 years, she worked at Publix Supermarkets in the Customer Service Department. Constantly willing and ready to do anything she could for anyone, she will always be remembered for her selfless spirit and with overwhelming fondness and love. Joyce always remarked that, "Life is Good" and "It's All Good." These phrases will be essential as we go about the task of continuing life here on this earth without our Maw by our side. A Memorial Service will be celebrated at 2pm, Saturday, December 29, 2012, at Unity Presbyterian Church, Denver, NC, with Rev. Carol Clark officiating. Following the service, family and friends will gather together for a reception at the church. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, niece and friend, she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Joyce leaves behind her loving husband of 46 years, Ron, and their two daughters Karen Smith (Shawn) of Spanish Fort, AL, and Julie Foster (James) of Niceville, FL. She also leaves to cherish her memory, her father, Jess Wingard of Davidson, NC; her five grandchildren, Adam, Joey, Nathan, Ava and Katie; her brother Michael Wingard (Khamie) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; sister Susan Dupuis (fiancé, Jot Owens); Aunt, Jean Wall (Clint) of Lexington, SC, and many other extended family members.
