Joseph Richard Anthony

Mr. Joseph Richard Anthony, 59, of Huntersville, NC died Tuesday December 13, 2011. Born October 9, 1952 in Bronxville, NY he was a son of Richard Joseph Anthony and Yolanda Carrotti Anthony of Eastchester NY. He retired from Union Carbide Corp & Associates as a Financial Analyst after 35 years of service, was co owner of Johnny Brusco's Pizza in Concord and a seasonal tax preparer with H & R Block in Huntersville. In the 1970's and 80's, Joe was an accomplished shortstop in slow-pitch softball. He played on many industrial and recreational teams to keep his skills sharp for his play with the nationally ranked Brothers Softball Team out of Yonkers, NY. He was an avid Yankees and Giants fan and spent many hours watching the games with family and friends. He also enjoyed playing basketball, deck hockey and bowling. He became fanatical after golf in the early 90's and looked forward to retiring to NC so that he could spend his days with the Romeos on the golf course. He was fortunate enough to achieve a hole-n-one this past summer. He was a quiet man who cared deeply for many things. He will be sorely missed by his wife, children, parents, remaining relatives, golfing companions and his Brusco family. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Joanne Colangelo Anthony; daughters, Marissa Grace Anthony, Diana Marie Anthony; son, Nicholas Richard Anthony; parents, Richard and Yolanda Anthony; brother, Richard Joseph Anthony; sister, Cynthia Grace Anthony; several nieces, nephews, grand niece and cousins. Memorial services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday December 16 at St. Mark Catholic Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 at the church.
