Johnnie Holton Stallings

Mrs. Johnnie Holton Stallings, 97, of Huntersville, NC passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, December 29, 2010. Born June 25, 1913 in Mecklenburg County she was a daughter of the late John Ford Holton and Mary Jane Earnhardt Holton. A lifelong member of Independence Hill Baptist Church she taught Sunday School for many years, was a member and past president of the Ladies Auxilary of the VFW Post 9736 and retired from the Department of Social Services in Mecklenburg County. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Saturday January 1, 2011 at Independence Hill Baptist Church. Entombment services will be conducted at 12:00 noon Monday January 3 at Forest Lawn West. The family will receive friends Friday December 31 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Fred (Susan) Stallings of Davidson, NC, Michael Stallings of Mountain City, TN; daughter, Joyce (Gene) Bergh of Fripp Island, SC; brother, Henry (Majel) Holton of Orlando FL.; grandchildren, Stephen (Sarah) Stallings, Jason (Jennifer) Stallings, Kim (Eddie) Stroud, Tammy Willis, Chip (Carrie) Bergh; great grandchildren, Tyler, Henry Stallings, Christopher, Sawyer, Julianne Stallings, Morgen and Kelli Stroud, Austin and Evan Bergh and numerous extended family members. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Excell Rozzelle Stallings in 1998 and ten brothers and sisters. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you for the loving care and kindness given by Sue Bostic to Mrs. Stallings during her declining health. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Lake Norman, 705 Griffith Street, Suite 203 Davidson, NC 28036.
