Johnnie Hill Coble Sr., 76, of Huntersville answered his Savior’s call Wednesday April 20, 2016, passing peacefully at home after a brief illness. Johnnie grew up in Wadesboro, NC and graduated from careers in trucking and banking directly into being a full-time grandfather.
He is reunited in heaven with his wife of 49 years, Carolyn, and with his beloved sister Ruth. Johnnie is survived by his brothers Ralph and William, and his sisters Mary Frances and Helen as well as his son John Jr. (Robin) and his grandson Johnny “Jack” III, whom he adored. “Papaw” will be remembered for being able to fix almost anything and for the many crafts he mastered as well as his musical talent.
His family would like to thank the many friends, and caregivers who have looked after him since his wife’s passing.
Visitation of family and friends will be held from 6-8 pm, Friday April 22, 2016 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home in Huntersville. The funeral will be Saturday April 23, 2016 at 11am at Independence Hill Baptist Church. A graveside service will be held at the Bennett Family Cemetery in Wadesboro following the service. A reception in Wadesboro for family and friends will be held after the services.
