John M. Woodward of Cornelius, NC died Thursday April 20, 2023 at Novant Hospital in Huntersville, NC surrounded by his beloved wife and sons.
 
John was born November 15, 1937 in Nashville ,TN, the son of the late Felix Grundy and Laura Miller .  His brothers are Fred and David (wife Martha) Woodward.
 
He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter Elizabeth W. Homer. 
 
He is survived by his wife Wanda Taylor of 64 years, sons  John Jr. and Nathan  Reid (wife Sarinah), NC; grandchildren  Ashley, Taylor, Kennedy, Grace and Nathan ll ( wife Annie); and nieces Laura Garrison (Troy), Catherine Irving (Brian) and Katherine Vanderpool.  John was a member of Davidson College Presbyterian Church.  John had many interests and really  enjoyed outings with family and friends and furniture construction.  John graduated with a B.S. and Masters degree in electrical engineering from the University of Tennessee.  After graduation, he worked for Westinghouse Air Arm Division, Baltimore, Maryland for several years then was employed by IBM Corporation the past 30 years before retirement. 
 
John was a happy soul throughout his life!!!  Love him forever  and ever!
 
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 2:00pm at Davidson College Presbyterian Church Chapel in Davidson, NC.
