John Matthew Stengel, born on February 7, 1977, in Hamilton, Ohio, departed this life on October 26, 2024, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. A devoted husband and father and son, John was known for his selfless nature and deep love for those closest to him.
Throughout his remarkable life, John exemplified the spirit of entrepreneurship. With determination and an unwavering vision, he built his own company in the Cybersecurity space, a venture he nurtured from its inception 24 years ago. His journey was not led by formal education but rather by his own self-initiated learning, highlighting his relentless pursuit of knowledge and mastery in his field.
Beyond his professional endeavors, John was a man of many interests. He was an avid follower of the NBA, finding great joy and camaraderie in the sport. Additionally, he committed himself to personal fitness, often engaging in running and weightlifting, which served as key outlets in his life.
John is survived by his wife, Kimbely Stengel, and their cherished children: Meghan, Jack, Landon, and Laysen. He is also survived by his mother, Deborah North Stengel, and his father, John Richard Stengel. His legacy continues through his siblings, sister, Elizabeth Lingen and her husband Scott; brother Christopher Stengel and his wife Emily, and sister Laura Gray and her husband Joel. He will be dearly missed by his nieces and nephews, along with a host of extended family members.
John’s remarkable presence will remain in the hearts of all who knew him, his enduring love and kindness leaving an indelible mark on his family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Monday, November 4 at 2:00 pm at Grace Covenant Church in Cornelius, with a service to follow at 3:00 pm. Burial will take place at Mt Zion Community Cemetery following the service.
