John "Jack" Paul Clements, Jr., 86, of Huntersville, NC passed away Saturday July 12, 2014. Jack was born July 9, 1928 in Apollo, PA . He served his country as a U.S. Marine in both World War II and the Korean Conflict. Jack received his undergraduate degree from Mount Union College and went on to receive his Masters of Education from Kent University and a Masters of Administration from Edinboro University. He was a collegiate athlete in multiple sports while at Mount Union College. Jack was a high school football coach, teacher, principal and president of the Ashtabula County Teachers Association over his 40 year career. He also founded the Head Start program in Ashtabula County. Jack was past Exalted Ruler of the Elks Club, and a member of the Phi Delta Kappa Educational Honorary Fraternity. He was an active member of St. Mark Catholic Church and 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Jack leaves his loving family; sons, Dr. John Clements and wife Kimberly of Charlotte, NC, Jeffrey Clements and wife Julie of Bermuda; daughter, Jill Clements of Huntersville, NC; sister, Joyce Miglore of Midland, PA; grandchildren, Victor and Nick Garrido, and Olivia, Grayson, Casey, Addy and Ryan Clements. He was preceded in death by his wife Annette Clements in 2005. Visitation will be held on Thursday July 17, 2014 from 7:00 -9:00 pm at the Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, Huntersville. A funeral mass will be conducted on Friday July 18, 2014 at 12:00 noon at St. Mark Catholic Church, Huntersville.
