Joe was raised in Mecklenburg County and was a graduate in North Mecklenburg High School’s first class. He grew up worshiping at Williams Memorial Presbyterian Church and in the mid 60’s he and his family joined Paw Creek Presbyterian Church.  At Paw Creek he was an active member where he and Sue served as church youth advisors for over a decade.  Joe also served as Boy Scout Master for several years, a member of the Men of the Church, a deacon, an elder, and a participant in numerous mission trips.

Joe’s family would like to especially thank his nephew Mike for always being available to help, the Novant Hospital - Huntersville nursing staff, Sarah from Palliative Care, and hospital chaplain Rev Chandler Owens for their support and care during Joe’s recent hospitalization.
