Joanne M. Cerosky

Joanne Gauker Cerosky, 78, of Huntersville passed away on September 30, 2023. She was born September 21, 1945 in New York City to the late William W. Gauker (Kauker) and Gertrude Barrett.

 

She loved to work with children and was a preschool teacher at Mt. Zion UMC, as well as providing childcare at multiple churches in the Charlotte area during church services. She was a NYC Fresh Air child spending ten summers in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. 

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Gauker. 

 

She is survived by her husband, Robert; daughter, Kathleen (Bobby) Underwood and sons, Robert (Suzanne) and William (Meredith); sisters, Ann (Steve) Furth and Peggy (Rich) Schnurr; grandchildren, Julia, Kaelyn, Riley, Bailey, Matthew, Brielle, Nicholas and Tabitha; and great-grandchildren, Ali, Carter, TJ, Ryan, Emma and Bryson.

 

A mass of remembrance will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, October 13, 2023 at St. Mark Catholic Church, Huntersville.  Please visit www.stmarknc.org to watch the mass live.
