Joann Day Walters

Mrs. Joann Day Walters, 74, of Charlotte passed away Tuesday April 14, 2015 at her residence. Born December 18, 1940 in Ashe County, NC she was a daughter of the late Howard Day and Faye Jones Day. She was a homemaker. Graveside services will be conducted 12:00 Saturday April 18, 2015 at Forest Lawn Cemetery West in Charlotte with Rev. Jason Garner officiating. A loving mother and grandmother, she leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Jimmy Dale Walters (Sandy) of Gaston, SC, Robert Walters of Charlotte; daughter, Teresa Gillespie ( Brian) of Mint Hill; grandchildren, Jimmy, Christopher, Jason, Michael, Courtney, Joshua; 4 great grandchildren and five sisters and brothers. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Walters and brother, Jerry Day. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Charlotte, 1420 E 7th Street, Charlotte, NC 28204.
