JoAnn Snipes

JoAnn Lingerfelt Snipes, 78 of Huntersville, NC, passed away on April 23, 2018. JoAnn was born in Albemarle, Stanley County on November 21st 1939 to the late George Lingerfelt and Carrie Mae Rogers Lingerfelt along with her three late siblings James Lingerfelt, David Lingerfelt and Bernice Morton.

She is survived by her daughter Sharon Carr and spouse Bo Gainey; one brother Wayne Lingerfelt, and six sisters Marie Williams, Evelyn Harris, Jewel Surratt, Jane Crump, Kay Poplin, and Janis Elaine Richardson. She is also survived by three grandchildren; Tiffany Linder, Jackie Edings, Jennifer Griffin and husband Wayne Griffin; nine great grandchildren Dayna Linder, Matthew Fleming, Tyler Buffkin, Amber Griffin, Lacey Griffin, Dakota Edings, Hailey Edings, Annisten Edings, and Chase Moore; one great great grandchild River Carnes.

JoAnn was a retired operator from Constar Plastics, Inc. where she dedicated her employment for 29 years. She was a very strong, caring, giving, selfless woman and she loved the Lord. She loved spending time with her family, loved the outdoors and fishing, and square dancing.  She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother (AKA Mema). She will be missed dearly by many.

A visitation will be held from 2:30-4:00 pm Saturday April 28th 2018 and a funeral service will follow at 4:00pm Saturday April 28th 2018 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home & Cremation Services located at 16901 Old Statesville Road Huntersville, NC 28078.
