Jerald Alston Ivester

Jerald Alston Ivester, 71, of Charlotte, NC passed away August 13, 2011 at Carolinas Medical Center. He was born November 19, 1939 in Mecklenburg County to the late William and Ruth Corley Ivester. Jerald graduated from the North Mecklenburg High School and the Central Community College. He was a member of the Statesville Baptist Church and the former owner of the Tin Bender Fabrication Company. Jerald was a U.S. Army veteran. He is survived by his wife Barbara Williams Ivester, son, Glenn Benton (Rhonda) of Midland, NC, daughters, Kristi (Tom) Stefanits of Spring Lake, MI and Keri (Jeremy) Johns of Simpsonville, SC. Four sisters, Sue Bettis, Lynda (Ed) Walters, Peggy Utley, and Alta (Ronald) Fite and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother Bill Ivester. The family would like to send a special thank you to all of the Drs. and nurses who cared for him during his illness. Friends will be received on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 from 10 AM till time of service at 11 AM at the New Hope Baptist Church, 7841 Idlewild Rd. Charlotte, NC. With Reverend Mike Young, officiating.
