Jean MacBurnie, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Christmas Eve morning, December 24th, 2019 in Charlotte, NC.
She was born September 3, 1942 in Nanticoke, PA to the late Eugene and Jennie Paliwoda. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Paliwoda.
Jean is survived by her husband, Dave MacBurnie of Denver, NC; daughter, Sherry Hart of Denver, NC; son, Scott MacBurnie of Baraboo, WI; grandsons, Christian Hart and Miles Hart; and sister, Sandra Weigel of Wayne, NJ.
Jean graduated from Farleigh Dickinson University with a Bachelor of Science where she applied her Education Degree to teach elementary school in Wayne, NJ. She loved children and teaching. Encouragement was a word that would describe Jean. No matter what the situation was, she always found a way to encourage people through words and actions in troubling times.
Jean always held close to her heart that it is better to give than to receive. She always hoped that everyone she touched will exhibit giving in their lives. She was known as the most generous person in her community and to her family where she would make meals, be there to listen, and would give what she had if she knew it would make someone happy. Jean had an extraordinary talent for interior design and floral design. Christmas was her favorite time of year when she would make Christmas bows, wreaths, and flowers for her neighbors and friends every year.
Jean is with her Savior and at peace hearing the words “Well done, my good and faithful servant”.
