Jason Michael Barter, 33, of Cornelius, NC passed away on October 21, 2016. Jason was born August 12, 1983 in Bitburg, Germany, later moving to England, Maine, Alabama and finally North Carolina. Jason developed artistic talent at a very early age. While attending McDonnell Elementary school he entered a contest to design the 25th Anniversary T-Shirt. He came in first place with his design of the Space Shuttle, which was sold by the school. Jason had a love for music and his earliest instrument was playing the trumpet at Stone Middle School. Later he took drum lessons. Jason expressed himself through his lyrics, art and music. He was always the life of the party, trying to make people laugh with his antics. He dreamed of being a famous musician with a flair for Rap/Hip Hop. Writing music and recording in the studio was his passion. Jason leaves behind a void in many lives but has left so many people with memories that will never be forgotten.
He is survived by his son, Elijah Lorenz, Huntsville, AL; daughter, Alyssah Christine Barter, Huntsville, AL; mother, Christine Ann Morgan (David), Cornelius, NC; brothers, Matthew Wayne Hill (Rachel), Huntsville, AL; Aaron Patrick Hill (Tristen), Charlotte, NC; grandfather, Fred Iaia, Paso Robles, CA; uncle, Graham John Barter(Jana), Pismo Beach,CA; Neill Barter (Sheri) San Pedro, CA; cousins, Kevin, Brett, and Ian Barter, CA; nephews, Evan and Landon Hill, Huntsville, AL; nieces, Ryleigh Hill, Leesville, LA and Jaylee Rye, Huntsville, AL; girlfriend, Hayley Alexander, Mooresville, NC.
Jason was preceded in death by Nana - Shirley Patricia Iaia, grandfather - Neville James Barter, grandmother - Eva Barter.
Family will receive friends at 6pm Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home with a memorial service at 7pm in the chapel of the funeral home.
