Janice Kidd Brown

Janice Kidd Brown, 70, of Lincolnton, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2021 at her residence. She was born in Charlotte on March 27, 1951, the daughter of the late Edward Barkley Kidd and Fannie Christenbury Kidd. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 40 years, Ronald Horace Brown. 

Janice loved the Lord and enjoyed reading her Bible, she was a member of Denver United Methodist Church. She loved watching the birds outside of her home and kept her birdfeeders well stocked. She was a very proud grandmother and her grandchildren were the light of her life. Janice was raised on a dairy farm in Huntersville and was very proud of her family heritage. She was an avid cook and taught her children how to cook. 

Janice is survived by her children, Annette Wilkes and husband Andy, Erin Castro and husband Larry; sister, Nellie Austin; niece, Donna Austin; nephew, Daniel Austin; and grandchildren, Justin & Karley Wilkes, Jonathan, Hannah & Maddie Castro, and Harper Dupree.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 3, 2021, 1:00 P.M. at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home and Cremation Service with Reverend Tony Matthews officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 - 1:00 P.M. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Denver United Methodist Church Cemetery.
