Janet Scott Mowery

Janet Proctor Scott Mowery, 74, of Davidson, NC, passed away November 16, 2015 in Charlotte, NC.
Janet was born in Philadelphia, PA on June 10, 1941 to the late Louis Wilson Scott, Jr. and Mildred Brown Scott. Along with her parents she is also preceded in death by her brother, Louis W. Scott III. She graduated from West Chester University in 1963, and lived in Wallingford, PA until 1996 then moved to Davidson, NC.Janet was a faithful member of Davidson United Methodist Church where she participated in prayer ministries, women's ministries and helped to lead the Moving On After Moving In classes. A lifelong educator of children, Janet taught at Benchmark School and 12 years at Swarthmore Presbyterian Nursery Day School.
Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Wayne Mowery; son, Jeffrey Mowery and his wife Elissa; daughter, Jill Haywood and her husband Antoine; granddaughter, Lily Mowery.
A memorial service will be held on December 7, 2015 at 2pm at Davidson United Methodist Church, Davidson, NC. The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, please make all donations to the general fund at Davidson United Methodist Church.
