Janet Jaeger

August 10, 1925 — August 15, 2014

DAVIDSON - Janet R. Jaeger, of the Pines in Davidson, passed away peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus on August 15, 2014. She was born on August 10, 1925 , the only child of Andrew Redefer and Ethel Dikeman Redefer of Long Island, New York and West Chicago, Illinois. In her later years she moved to North Carolina to be with one of her daughters. Janet graduated summa cum laude from Monmouth College in New Jersey with a History Degree. She used her degree to lead numerous research projects and independent studies as well as teaching history to her home schooled great grand children. She also taught ESL students and spent any time she could doting on children. A lifelong birder', she had over 150 life birds' and could identify all by their song. Janet travelled around the world many times and delighted in experiencing the places of history. She was an avid bridge player and the most important thing to her was her family. She was the wife of Richard Joseph Jaeger Jr. of the Pines in Davidson, also the beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her three children: Richard Joseph Jaeger III and wife Mary of Honolulu, HI, Judith Ann Dill and husband Jan Dill of Honolulu, HI and Susan Buchanan Kelly and husband Jim of Cornelius, NC. 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Janet joins her grandson, John Dill, who preceded her to heaven earlier this summer. The family will receive friends 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday August 23, 2014 with the Funeral Service following at 3:00 in the Chapel of Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home.
