Janet Hubbard

Janet Bearden Hubbard, 74,  passed away peacefully on August 16, 2018 with her husband, Walter, lovingly by her side.  She courageously fought her battle with ovarian cancer for over 4 years. 

Janet was born in Atlanta, Georgia on September 20, 1943 to Wayman (deceased) and Victoria Bearden.  

Janet is survived by her husband of 52 years, Walter William Hubbard , her son , Bradley Hubbard and his wife Anna, their children Hunter and Jackson and her daughter, Charlotte Jones and her husband Kevin and their children, Cooper, Parker and Piper. She is also survived by her mother, Victoria , her sisters and brothers, Diane Jongema , Susan Ives , Richard Bearden and Ronald Bearden and all of the Atlanta, Georgia area. 

Janet graduated from Russell High School in East Point , Georgia. She was a beautiful person inside and out. It was that beauty and grace that lead her to a career in modeling and higher end fashion.  She also became well known for organizing dynamic and entertaining fashion shows. 

Janet made the decision when her children were young to not work outside the home.  She was absolutely devoted to Bradley and Charlotte and her whole family.  

One can never think of Jan without thinking of entertaining.  Janet’s entertaining and hosting abilities are legendary among all who knew her—she and Walt loved a good party! 

Janet and Walt have had a life filled with love, family, friends and adventure.  She loved Hilton Head, SC, boating, playing  tennis and golf, snow skiing and hiking  in Vail ,Colorado. 

Family is everything to Janet; however, since moving to Lake Norman in 1994, she and Walt have been blessed with friends that have truly become part of our extended family.  The love and support that they have shown is unmeasurable to our family and we are forever grateful.

A memorial service will be held at 10am, Monday, August 20, 2018 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home.
