Jane Elizabeth Pace Newkirk

Jane Elizabeth Newkirk Jane passed away (cancer) on Wednesday, May 25, 2011. She was born in Owego, New York, November 18, 1929 to Winifred Gertrude Hodge and Merwyn L. Pace. She was preceded in death by her husband of 22 years, LeRoy Newkirk in 1996. She and Roy were active members of Vassar Road Baptist Church in Poughkeepsie, New York for twenty five years. She is survived by two sisters, Mary Louise Hallet of Owego and Marilyn Fox of Atlanta; one niece Cindy Gonzales of Post Falls, ID and her daughter Jennifer Gonzales also of Post Falls, ID. and Marilyns children, Anthony, Allen, Vernon, Jr., Allison and Karen. Mrs. Newkirk lived in Huntersville, NC the last eight years. She was a member of Independence Hill Baptist, Plaza Baptist Church and the last five years at Derita Baptist, where she was church clerk. She sang in the church choir and sang with Good News Singers. She was a strong supporters of Samaritans Purse, especially Operation Christmas Child. Jane worked as the Area Youth Coordinator for the National Council of Churches for two years. She worked at Endicott-Johnson, Endicott, NY for twenty five years and twenty five years for I.B.M. in Fishkill, NY and then retired. She leaves behind many friends who will see her again in heaven. There will be a memorial service on Sunday, June 5, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. at Derita Baptist Church with Pastor Tom Diagle officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Samaritans Purse, P. O.
