Jane Flattery Genett, 70, of Denver, NC passed away peacefully on December 2, 2017. Jane was born August 4, 1947 in Kansas City, MO to the late Robert L. Flattery and Jeanine Kirsten Flattery.
Jane will always be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a “quilter extraordinaire”, a teacher, a mentor and had a creative spirit that touched many through her sewing and quilting. Jane shared her love of quilting by teaching her quilting techniques all over the Southeast and in Kauai. Being the loving, kind and giving woman she was, even during her own battle, she made and donated quilts to women and their families that were in the end stage wing at Levine Cancer Institute. Jane was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be missed by everyone that had the honor of knowing her. She retired as the sales manager for Viking Sewing Machines.
Jane is survived by her loving family; husband, Louis E. Genett; children, Michael E. Genett (Denise), Courtney, G. O’Donnell, and Matthew Genett (Kristen); grandchildren, Jenna, Joshua, Katie, Abigail, Madison, Conner, Kylie, Emma, Jacob, Mia, Mason, Lily, and Lucy; brother, William Robert Flattery (Mie); niece, Leanne, nephew, Bryan; sister in law, Ali Stout and her children, Johnny, Spring, and Josh.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, Huntersville, NC. The visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Northlake Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, family requests donations in memory of Jane be made to the Levine Cancer Institute Breast Cancer Research, 208 East Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28203 or online donation thru Carolinas Healthcare Foundation to Levine Cancer Institute.
