James Wray White

January 29, 1976 — December 12, 2017

James Wray White, age 41, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at his home in Concord, North Carolina. He was born to WrayThomas and Mary Ann White on January 29, 1976 in Webster, South Dakota. 

He was a 1994 graduate of Campbell County High School in Gillette, Wyoming.Out of high school, he went on to achieve a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology from the University of Wyoming and a second Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Animation from the Colorado Institute of Art in Denver, Colorado.  He married the love of his life Kyle Bethany Thomas on June 19, 2014, in Asheboro, North Carolina and welcomed their beautiful daughter Willa Marigold on March 22, 2016.  Above all his educational accomplishments, his desire always pulled him back to his talent in art.  Jim had an uncanny ability to reach people with his art through personal gifts and professional abilities. He worked as the manager at Carolina Bronze Sculpture, displaying a wonderful knack for attention to detail and his enjoyment of art. Many pieces Jim worked on can be seen around the world.  Jim truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family, and spending as much time as possible with his daughter Willa. 

He is survived by his wife, Kyle; daughter Willa;mother Mary Ann White; mother and father-in-law, Jerolyn and Michael Thomas; sister Janet Booterbaugh(Jamey); brother John White(Tammie); sister-in-law Katie Thomas(Chauncey) ; sister-in-law SarahThomas (Ryan); brother-in-law Nathan Thomas (Marnie) and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

Jim was preceded in death by his father Wray and brother Thomas. 
Through Jim’s generosity to always help others; he has decided to gift his body to sarcoma research, hoping to save future lives.  A private Memorial Service for family and close friends will be held on Friday, December 15, 2017 at St James Catholic Church, Concord, at 4 PM to reminisce and celebrate Jim.
