James Thomas Stablein Jr., 68 Years old, passed away on 8/8/2021. Jim was born on September 20, 1952 in Joliet, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Catherine Stablein, his sister Cynthia Madigan, and brothers Timothy
Stablein & Thomas Stablein.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years Lindsay Sutherland as well as nephews & nieces, Thomas (Laura) Stablein, Becki Stablein, Michael (Laura) Madigan, Annie Laurie Madigan and Edward (Casey) Madigan.
Jim and his wife Lindsay moved to Cornelius 3-1/2 years ago, relocating from Chicago where they both grew up. Jim was an avid bicyclist and was often seen riding on his bright orange bike with his fluorescent safety vest. He also loved going to the pool, sunbathing and socializing. He made a point of going every day into the autumn months, unless it was raining. Jim was always drawn to the water. He served six years in the Navy. He also was a Merchant Marine on the Great Lakes for many years. His most recent career was as a land surveyor working in Atlanta and Chicago.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Bailey’s Glen clubhouse. Date to be determined.
