James Roy Nance

James Roy Nance, 87, of Huntersville, NC was called home by God surrounded by his loving family, Sunday December 22, 2013. Born September 5, 1926 in Stanfield, NC he was a son of the late Crawford Miller Nance and Nezzie Long Nance. He was a strong and thoughtful man who had a real passion for his family. He was a treasured father and a huge NASCAR fan. He was a veteran of World War II Army of the United States 29th Medical Depot Co and retired from management with General Tire & Rubber Co. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday December 28 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Charlotte Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Zora Parsons Nance. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved daughter, Renee Nance Jones and beloved husband William "Bill" of Huntersville; precious granddaughter, Heather Renee Jones who is a student at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine; brothers, Bruce Nance and wife , Lula, Charlie Nance, Jackie Nance; sister, Marie Nance Hinson; several dear nieces and nephews. Brothers, Gad, Joe, Gene, Earl Nance and sister, Mildred Nance Goodman also preceded him in death. Memorials may be made to Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center, Critical Care Unit, P.O.
