James Joseph Kopchak, 78, of Huntersville, North Carolina, formerly of Harriman, New York, passed away June 16, 2021.
He was born January 19, 1943 in Port Jervis, New York to the late James “Sam” Kopchak and Vivian Kopchak. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Kopchak (wife, Mary) of Central Valley, NY.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Maurleen Kopchak; daughter, Scarlett Zimnowski (husband, Eddie) of Huntersville, NC; son, Mickey Kopchak (wife, Rommy) of Washingtonville, NY; brother, Michael Kopchak (wife, Marylou – Deceased) of Dingmans Ferry PA; grandchildren, Bryan, Sarah, Michael, and Ryan; and great-granddaughter, Genevieve.
Jim was a proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran, retired Union Laborer Local 3 New Jersey, co-owner of the Silver Dollar in Monroe, NY, member of the Harriman Engine Co. No 1, life member of the VFW Post 8858 and member of the American Legion Post 1573.
