James Dewitt Deason

James Dewitt Deason, 69, of Huntersville, NC passed on September 4, 2017 at Harris Hospice Center at Novant Health in Charlotte, NC.

A native to Mecklenburg County he was born on December 6, 1947 to the late Harvey Dewitt Deason and Mary Alma Funderburk.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his sisters, Barbara Linda Smith and Patricia Elizabeth Hartis.

He is survived by his loving wife, Betty Jane Deason; step-daughter, Robin Beverly Conner ( Charlie); grandchild, Abigail (Abbey) Grace Conner; brother, Harvey  Lynn Deason; and sister, Phyllis Elaine Kiker.

James was a member of the American Legion of Huntersville- Post 321 and the Tri-Five Cruisers. He also immensely enjoyed traveling and going around the country to events and shows with his classic 1955 Chevy and Tri-Five Friends.

A graveside service will be held at 9:30am on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Northlake Memorial Gardens, Huntersville, NC.

A church service will follow at 11:00 am on Saturday at New Hope Baptist Church in Concord, NC.   

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Charlotte Region or Harris Hospice Center.
