Jack Ray Griffin "Skipper" age 63 of Cornelius, NC died Thursday September 19, 2013 at Carolinas Medical Center. Born October 8, 1949 in Greenwood, SC he was the son of Doris "Irene" Powell and the late Jack Griffin. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and retired from Sanofi Pharmaceuticals. "Skipper" was an avid boater, had his Captain's license, was a member of the America's Great Loop Cruisers Association , a USO Volunteer and loved the Carolina Panthers. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at the Waterfront Hall in Jetton Park, 1900 Jetton Road, Cornelius, NC 28031. The family is encouraging everyone to share a special thought for this celebration of this life. In addition to his mother, Irene , he leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Pia; children, Brent (Tara) Griffin, Jacqueline Griffin, Jennifer (Joe) Sadowski; step-children, Crystal (Trevor) Shea, Anita Munn; sister, Sandra (Ralph) Napierala; nine grandchildren, Keegan, Maija, Makenna, Jackson, Ethan, Garrett, Olivia, Grace, Stella; nephew, Joe (Susan) Bagwell, nephews, Joseph and Austin Bagwell and niece, Suzy Bagwell. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Marie. In Lieu of Flowers Memorial contributions may be made to USO, P.O.
