In addition to his immediate family above he is survived by brother Robert Brindley Dunlap and wife Carol;and sister, Dee Dee Murphree. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, George Emery Dunlap. Dunnie was a graduate of The Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida, where he played football and was also on the swimming and diving team. He then graduated from Florida State University, where he attended on a swimming scholarship. He was an Alumni of Kappa Alpha Fraternity. After college Mr. Dunlap enlisted in the military, serving as a Ranger and Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. Dunnie was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for hunting, fishing, boating, and golf. His latest hobbies were kayaking at his favorite fishing hole, learning about web technology, discussing politics, and watching all sports. He always knew the latest news story or score of a game. But his most cherished moments were those spent with his grandchildren, who were the light of his life and simply knew him as Gramps'. As a veteran, an affiliation that was close to Jack's heart was his involvement in the American Legion, Post 159. As an active member for many years he enjoyed his time volunteering many hours and having served as former Adjutant. Though opposed to most political platforms these days his dedication to this organization and its efforts in supporting our veterans was clear to anyone who knew him.
