Ilene Stilwell Hager

Ilene Stilwell Hager, 88 passed away on May 4, 2016 in Lincolnton, NC. She was born in Gaston County on September 22, 1927 to the late Worth Stilwell and Bertha Stowe Stilwell.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Morris (Shady) Hager; brothers, Franklin Stilwell, Eugene Stilwell; sisters, Odell Hager, Lola Avery, and Juanita Mashburn.

She is survived by her son, Billy Hager; daughter, Betty Hager; brothers, Raymond and Dennis Stilwell; sisters, Doris Mashburn, Rebecca Mack, and Elizabeth McLaughlin.

Ilene was a life time member of the Castanea Presbyterian Church.  She always enjoyed learning new things such as: cake decorating, arranging flowers, and even small engine repair. She enjoyed traveling and exploring new places with her close friends Betty and Margaret, and also was the queen of any “Grand Opening”.

A funeral service will take place on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Castanea Presbyterian Church on Old Hwy 16 in Lucia, NC. A visitation will take place from 1:00-3:00 PM prior to the service at the church.

Ilene will be laid to rest following the service at Castanea Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
