Howard "Shorty" Emory Little

Howard “Shorty” Little, Sr., 91, of Cornelius, NC died on October 10, 2016 at Novant Main in Charlotte, NC.

A native to Mecklenburg County, he was born on June 25, 1925 to the late Horace Emory Little and Connie Howard Little.

Shorty was an Army Veteran of WWII and a member of The American Legion-Post #86. He worked many years as a long line truck driver for Johnson Motor Lines. He loved the sport of baseball and was an Atlanta Braves Fan, and an avid NASCAR fan.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Aliene Little; son, Terry Little; sister, Lois Neal; and grandson, Jason.

Shorty is survived by his daughter, Kay Knox Ward of South Port, NC; son, Junior Little and his wife Sarah from Ocean Isle Beach, NC; brother Booty Little of Huntersville, NC; grandchildren, Keena Knox, Mark Little, Trent Little; great-grandchild, Lexie Knox; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Thursday, October 13, 2016 from 1:00pm until time of services at 2:00pm at Mt.  Zion United Methodist Church in Cornelius, NC.

Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery.
