Hiram “Archie” Costner III, 76, of Huntersville, NC passed away after and extended illness on January 20, 2018. Archie was born in Greensboro on July 30, 1941 to the late Hiram Archie Costner, Jr. and Mary Helen Costner. Archie attended NC State University and the National Institute of Dry Cleaning. His occupations included management of a Costner’s Cleaners and Laundry Plant, Assistant Manager of a Laundry for Presbyterian Hospital, and later practiced Real Estate and worked Public Safety. Archie also served in the US Marine Corp Reserves and was a true Patriot who loved his country.
Archie was a unique and special person. He appreciated the fine arts and was artistic and musically talented. He also had a love for animals. Archie had a heart of gold and never met a stranger. He was a very loyal brother who stood beside his family. We have many memories of good times and laughter shared. We love him and will miss him dearly. We will always carry him in our hearts and are grateful he is now in a better place.
Along with his parents Archie was preceded in death by his wife Harriet Lemond Costner.
He is survived by his two sisters; Mary Costner Inman of Charlotte, and Catherine Helen Costner (Regina Ann Eagle) of Huntersville, brother; Kenneth White Costner (Carol Ann) of Hagerstown, MD, six nieces and nephews; Susan Vogel Little (Denny), Courtney Vogel Shofield, Ann Vogel Blanquicet, Kendall White Costner and Conner Austin Costner.
A private memorial service will be held with the family at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home in Huntersville, NC with pastor Nathan King.
