Heriberto Gonzalez

Heriberto Gonzalez, 87, of Huntersville, NC passed away on Thursday June 5, 2014 at Novant Health, Charlotte. Heriberto was born October 27, 1926 in Habana, Cuba to the late Candido and Filomena Gil Gonzalez. He joined the Cuban Army in 1944 (pre-Castro) and served for 14 years. Heriberto came to the United States in 1969, settled in New Jersey and worked in an Industrial Ceramic plant until he retired in 1991. He then moved to Florida where he enjoyed the outdoors and his vegetable garden. In 2009 Heriberto moved to North Carolina so he could be close to his grandchildren. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by nine siblings. Heriberto leaves to cherish his memory, his loving family; wife, Serafina Sotolongo Gonzalez; sons, Heriberto (Maria) Gonzalez, Jr., Jose (Myra) Gonzalez; grandchildren, Christopher, Rebecca, Andrew, David; several extended family members.
