Helen Ledford Allen

Helen Ledford Allen of  Charlotte, NC passed away on August 12, 2018.

She was born December 19, 1934 in Kings Mountain, NC to the late Paul Thomas and Lillie Mae Ledford.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Burnie Odell Allen and brother Carol Thomas Ledford.

Helen is survived by her daughter Marcia Lynn Allen; sister Patricia Champion (Carl) of Gastonia, NC; and many nieces and nephews.

Helen enjoyed traveling and crocheting. She was known as ‘The Poncho Lady’. She was involved in multiple groups and activities surrounding this hobby. The family request contributions be made to a cancer society of your choice, including St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital; or University United Methodist Church in Charlotte, NC.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at 1:30PM at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home located at 16901 Old Statesville Road, Huntersville, NC 28078. The funeral service will begin at 2:30PM. Friends are invited to attend graveside services at 5:00 PM at Mountain Rest Cemetery located at 111 S Dilling St, Kings Mountain, NC 28086.
