Harvey John Fredrick Meyer passed away on June 9, 2016 at the Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, NC. He was born on September 26, 1928 in St. Louis, MO to the late Harvey John Fredrick Meyer and Viola Meyer. Along with his parents, he is preceded by his son, Robert Craig Meyer. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Linda, and his three sons, Harvey James, Richard Allen, and Scott Anthony Meyer; his daughter Deborah and husband Mike Boos; Step-daughter, Karla Lever; grandchildren: Trevor, Brian, and Heather; and great-grandchildren: Cody, Jake, Hanna, and Sam.
Harvey was a performance evaluator for Loral Defense after being a missile launch instructor while in the Air Force, to name just two of his occupations. He was an avid golfer, gardener, and a pretty good cook. He was happiest watching basketball, baseball, golf, and tennis, as well as listening to Frank Sinatra. Those who knew him will remember his quick smile.
A memorial service will be held at a Mighty Fortress Lutheran Church (AMF) in Charlotte, NC at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 16th. The family will receive friends at AMF beginning at 3:00 p.m. A private interment will be held prior. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to A Mighty Fortress Lutheran Church at 8200 McClure Circle, Charlotte, NC 28216.
