Gregory Lee King, 67, of Charlotte N.C., died August 22, 2014 at the North East Medical Center in Concord N.C. Greg was born November 8, 1946 in Firebrick, Ohio, the son of Art King and Mable King. He was a 1964 Graduate of Jackson High School in Jackson, Ohio. He briefly attended Ohio University before volunteering to serve in the Vietnam War in 1966. Greg was a loving and devoted husband to his wife of 40 years, Anne Elizabeth King. Not only was Greg a committed husband, he dedicated his life to honor and cherish his family and friends. He loved the Lord and was an active member of StoneBridge Church Community. He was an Air Force Veteran who served honorably in Vietnam. After his active duty service he started working in the banking business in Jackson, Ohio. Greg moved to Florida in 1973 to pursue his career in banking. This is where he met the love of his life Anne Elizabeth Bowden. He continued his career in banking until he retired in 2009. He loved spending time with his family, playing golf, an avid Gator, Buccaneers and Rays fan and enjoyed riding his Harley. In addition to his wife Anne, he is survived by his sister and brother Carolyn Gilliland, and Marlin Fox, his son Todd and wife Ivy King, their children Crystal, Jamie and Forrest, great grandchildren Noah, Nathan, Makenzie, Colton, Brayden. His daughter Julie and husband Dennis Berktold, children Brooke, Hailey, and Luke and his son Michael and wife Angie King, children Ella and Gabriel. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday August 24,2014, at the StoneBridge Presbyterian Church, 3700 Prosperity Church Rd., Charlotte, NC. Memorial contributions may be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America in Greg's name. Raymer- Kepner Funeral Home is assisting the family.
