Grace Elizabeth Nixon

  Grace Elizabeth Nixon, 91, of Charlotte, NC passed away on March 31, 2022 at her home.  She was born in Charlotte on June 28, 1930 to the late Frank and Irene Kinney.  She is preceded in death by her husband Boyce Nixon; sister, Francis Mauch and her brother, Buddy Kinney.

  She is survived by her loving children, Vicki Wells (Al Malcom), Danny Nixon (Jodie), Lisa Gadd and Chad Nixon (Katrina); 11 grand children; 6 great grand children; and several other extended family and loved ones.

  Grace was a Sunday School Teacher for many years and she owned and operated a home daycare for over 25 years.  She loved her family, along with being a home maker and a loving wife for 68 years.  Some of her favorite things were chocolate and ice cream, especially towards her final months.  When asked if she was enjoying those delicious treats, she would reply with he favorite line..."YEA BOY!"

  A funeral service will be held on Sunday April 3, 2022 at 3:00pm at Pleasant Grove UMC in Charlotte.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00pm.  A burial will immediately follow the service at the church cemetery.
