Gloria Jean (Wilger) Dillinger, aged 80, of Denver, North Carolina passed away on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025, surrounded by her devoted daughters.
Jean was a self-reliant, hardworking force of nature. She taught us that happiness does not come from money, it comes from being grateful for what you have, and the love of family and friends. She knew it was best to leave while you’re still having fun, and she did just that, enjoying a blowout bash for her 80th birthday. Jean loved her red car, a cold diet coke, and a card game. She regaled us with stories about growing up on Eastern Avenue in the “East End” of Cincinnati and going to St. Rose School and Church.
Jean was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on May 12, 1944, to the late Harry Paul Wilger, Sr. and Martha Ellen (Rogers) Wilger. Jean is preceded in death by her husband Angelo Richard “Tony” Dillinger and her grandchildren Madeline Jean Schunk and Christian Donald Schunk. She is survived by her daughters Angela Renee Schunk and her husband Scott and Victoria Dillinger Hurlebaus and her husband Tim. She is also survived by her grandchildren Calum Richard Hurlebaus and Olivia Renee Hurlebaus. She is sister to the late Harry Paul “Pete” Wilger and the late Stephen J. (Marianne Schulte) Wilger.
There will be a cremation with no memorial service. Memorial donations may be made to VIA Health Partners.
