Gloria Elaine Carr

Gloria Elaine Carr, 79, of Waxhaw, North Carolina, died Tuesday, February 26th, 2019.

She was born September 21st, 1939 to the late James Clinton Edwards and Ruth Rooks Edwards in Griffin, Georgia.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Carr; grandson, Joseph Hall; great-granddaughter, Celeste Hall; two sisters, Shirley Blackwell and Bobbie Harwell; and one brother, James Edwards.

Surviving are daughters, Sharon Painter and husband Mike; Deborah Hall and husband Rick; son, Greg Carr; stepdaughter, Sherry Thomas and husband David; five grandchildren, Clinton Hall, Gabriel Hall; Sylvia Faulkner, Ryan Baghalzadeh, and Leah Painter; five great-grandchildren, Midian Hall, Kagan Hall, Ryleigh Hall, Scarlett Hall, and Oliver Faulkner; brothers, Alan Edwards and Steve Edwards; and sister, Vickie Walker. 

Gloria gave selflessly to her family and loved spending time with them, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, reading, traveling, and cooking for her family. She worked full-time her entire life as a seamstress and caregiver.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, March 3rd, 2019 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 16901 Old Statesville Rd., Huntersville.  Inurnment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens in Charlotte.

Memorial contributions may be made in Gloria's memory to the National Kidney Foundation or to Hospice of Union County.
