Gloria Bolster

Gloria Ann Bolster, a beautiful wife and mother, passed away peacefully at her home in Cornelius, NC on December 20, 2016. 

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 28 at the Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home (16901 Old Statesville Road Huntersville, NC  28078). Friends and family are invited to attend the viewing from 1-2 PM . Chapel services shall begin at 2 pm, immediately followed by burial services at the Christian Aid Society Cemetery in Davidson.   Thereafter, the Bolsters will host her celebration of life at home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Lustgarten Foundation (www.Lustgarten.org) where 100% of donations directly fund pancreatic cancer research.

Gloria was born to Lewis and Mary Stiller in Glen Burnie, Maryland, where she was raised along with her six loving siblings.  After graduating from high school as class Salutatorian, Gloria attended the University of Maryland, where she met her husband of 45 years, Gregory Brent Bolster.

She was a loving mother to her two children, Melinda Lauren Bolster and Zachary Lewis Bolster, and the most wonderful grandmother to Colin Thomas Falvey and Emma Terese Falvey.  Family was Gloria's top priority and she always put others first. She was truly the "glue" that helped keep the family together.

As her children grew older, Gloria allocated more of her time to fitness and exercise.  She took an interest in cycling and successfully completed a three-day 150+ mile "Cycle Across Maryland" tour.  She was also an avid runner.  Through this sport, she developed a close-knit group of friends that traveled across the US to participate in 5k's, 8k's, 10k's, and relay races. Gloria earned medals in her age-group and always enjoyed a post-race bloody mary with her friends.

After several years as a stay-at-home mother, Gloria launched a successful career focused on finance and accounting systems.  During her time with Erickson Living, she led accounting systems integrations, taught technical accounting software classes, and was known among colleagues for her attention to detail, strong problem solving skills, and ability to collaborate with others.  Gloria was always up for a challenge.

Like her father, Gloria believed in the value of an education, the virtue of hard work, and the importance of helping those less fortunate.  In this spirit, she established the Lewis Myron Stiller college scholarship, a need-based program awarded to students renown for their work ethic that earned strong (but not perfect) grades.

Gloria was the warmest and most kind person, who saw the best in other people and was always there to help friends, family, and co-workers in need. 

Her memory will live on in our hearts forever.
