Glady Louella Craft Bridger, 84, of Cornelius, NC, died at home on July 15th, 2011.

She was born in Hamlet, NC, November 29, 1926 to Reedy and Rita Craft. She was a homemaker and faithful member of the United Methodist Church. Glady was a kind-hearted, gentle and faith-filled spirit, embodying laughter and love. She was a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She loved family, friends, Gods gift of nature, and above all, her Lord, Jesus Christ.

She was a devoted pastors wife at Linwood UMC, Cotton Grove UMC, Level Cross UMC, New Salem UMC, Randleman UMC, Unity UMC-Thomasville, Harrison UMC, Marvin UMC, Worthville UMC, Wentworth UMC, Mt Zion UMC, First UMC-Rutherfordton, Jamestown, UMC, and Race Street UMC-Statesville. Her husband, Reverend Donald Bridger, preceded her in death.

Glady was a member of the United Methodist Women and Sunday School. She served as a Cub Scout leader at Harrison UMC and Girl Scout Brownie leader at Mt. Zion UMC. She was a teacher for Childrens Daycare at Mt. Zion and First UMC in Rutherfordton. She worked as a bookkeeper for First Union Bank-Thomasville/Greensboro, Northwestern Bank-Thomasville/Statesville/Greensboro, and American First Bank in Charlotte where she met her husband.

She is survived by her brother, Tillman Craft of Houston, Tx; children, Donna Bridger of Winston-Salem, NC, Ann Watkins (and husband, Vince) of Cornelius, NC, Don Bridger Jr. of Denver, Colorado, and Sheri Little (and husband, Phillip) of Pittsboro, NC; grandchildren, Kenneth Moffitt, Alaa Wally Craddock, and Ashley Slate; and great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements will include a graveside service at Mt. Zion UMC, 19600 Zion St., Cornelius, NC, 28031 on Tuesday, July 19 at 11:00. The church sanctuary will be open prior to the graveside service for visitation and meditation at 10:00.

Flowers may be sent to Mt. Zion UMC or Raymer Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the Son Shine Preschool in care of Mt. Zion UMC, the local UMW, or the American Cancer Society.
