George Washington Kirkwood

George Washington Kirkwood, 79, of Davidson, NC on June 13, 2022. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 23, 1942, to the late George Mackey and Agnes Ross.

Along with his parents; brother, Thomas Mackey; brother, John Mackey; brother, George Mackey; and brother, Andrew Mackey.

George is survived by his wife, Sharon Kirkwood; son, George (Teresa) Kirkwood; son, Richard (DeDe) Kirkwood; daughter, Denise (Tracy) Temple; stepdaughter, Keri O’Neil; stepson Brian Blasing; several grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

George was an airline mechanic with United Airlines and Eastern Airlines. He received the Charlie Taylor Master Mechanic Award for 50 or more years of civil and military maintenance experience.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Novant Hospice.

A service will be held at the convenience of the family.
